Porto Moniz is a small village on the north west tip of Madeira famous for its natural, volcanic rock pools.

The municipal rock pools require an entrance fee. However, just a couple of hundred metres along the coast are safe, free, natural, volcanic, sea-water, rock pools that are perfectly safe for public swimming.

This video gives an introduction to Porto Moniz in under 6 minutes.
