Other Suggested Camping Locations

These areas are basic - often only comprising of a level patch of grass. Do not expect toilets, washrooms, electricity points or even a tap for fresh water.

If you erect a tent anywhere else on Madeira, you are liable to be in contravention of local laws.

Much of Madeira is either part of an ecological protected area or else a nature reserve. Human habitation and activities are strictly limited within these areas. Please respect the environment and only camp in designated areas.
