Living Science Centre in Madeira Video

The Living Science Centre, or Centro de Ciência Viva, is located in Porto Moniz on the north west tip of Madeira.

Part of the network of Live Science Centres that are situated throughout Portugal, the centre at Porto Moniz is intended to be an interactive space that serves to promote the scientific, cultural and economic development of Madeira.

This video gives an introduction to the nature and extent of the interactive exhibits that are featured.

Various displays chart the origins of the endemic laurissilva forest up to its present day flora and fauna.

Then, there is the bubbling fun of the virtual aquarium and the various games designed to engage children with some of the more pressing problems facing the island of Madeira.

And, of course, if you want a souvenir of your visit, then you get to design that yourself as well!
